Feeling numb

Feeling numb is when you don’t feel happy or sad, just kind of “meh.” Sometimes, feeling numb can happen when we’re overwhelmed or tired, and it’s our body’s way of taking a break from strong emotions. If you’re feeling numb, don’t worry, there are things you can do to help yourself feel better.

What you can do

  • Reach out: Talk to someone you trust about how you’re feeling.
  • Do something you love: Take a break and do something you enjoy, like drawing, listening to music, or going for a walk.
  • Take a Breath: Practice mindfulness or deep breathing exercises to help reconnect with yourself and your emotions.
  • Rest Up: Get plenty of rest and take care of yourself by eating healthy foods and getting some exercise.
  • Ask for Help: Remember that it’s okay to ask for help if you need it, whether it’s from a parent, teacher, or a mental health professional. You can also use Branch to find support local to you in Wirral.
